Dog Houses. Tuesday , February 13th , 2018 - 10:25:50 AM
Put some of his favorite toys or blankets in his house, or give him some treats in his house. It should also be as close to home as possible. Make sure that the house isnt too large or small for the dogs size, as well. If the dog still isnt crazy about his new house, just give him time. He might just need to adjust to it, especially if he is used to being indoors. We all want the best for our canine buddies. They are family for some of us, so we strive to provide for all of their needs and keep them happy, safe and healthy.
Finally, if you live in an area of extreme hot or cold, you may consider a heated or airconditioned house for your dog, but I would recommend checking with your vet first. You should also provide bedding inside your dogs house. Old towels, blankets, or sheets make good bedding. In wintertime, put a thick folded layer down for insulation from the cold ground, then put more bedding on top. In summertime, put just enough bedding in so your dog can choose to lie on the cool floor of his dog house or on the bedding.
Dogloos are igloo dog houses and these have some of the best insulation in this category of housing. The igloo shape and entry tunnel also provides extra protection from the wind, rain and elements. Plastic dog crates can be used as either indoor or outdoor dog homes or dwellings as well, although these are not insulated, so you will want to provide good dog bedding and a crate cover in cooler weather. If you are often on the go and need a place to keep your dog while out and about, you will want to look into a portable dog house.
