Dog Beds. Tuesday , January 23rd , 2018 - 14:03:54 PM
Standard dog beds are usually sorted into the following types: mattresses, balls, or nests. The style of bed that suits your dog depends on his or her sleeping habits. If your dog tends to curl up when sleeping, nests or balls are the best style of dog beds to choose from. Nests provide extra insulation, good for dogs sleeping outdoors. Mattress style dog beds are more comfortable for dogs that tend to sprawl when sleeping. They give your dog room to move around, stretch, or sleep in whatever position suits them at any particular moment.
For those of us that live in colder areas where the floor of our house stays a bit chilly all year a nice soft dog bed can keep the dog off of the cold floor and keep their body at a comfortable temperature. Arthritic dogs tend to benefit from dog beds the most in this scenario. Does your dog get on the furniture? Maybe they do this to be comfortable? I think so. If your dog gets on the furniture a nice cozy dog bed of their own may very well curb their desire to get on your stuff. The dog bed will become their home where they feel safe and enjoy spending time.
Another type of bed that little dogs seem to like, are ones shaped like caves. These are quite novel beds which are similar in appearance to a den. Remember dogs originally were raised in dens that resemble caves you may have seen some abandoned animal dens, often built on the side of a hill. Do you see the connection here? Also, the hood on these cavetype beds can be pulled down over the pet for an even greater feeling of security. Likewise, its easy to image in the past, that the mother of a pack would guard her cave by pulling some brush across the entrance.
