Dog Crates. Thursday , February 01st , 2018 - 13:02:38 PM
As mentioned above there are advantages and disadvantage to the different types of crates (plastic, softsided, wire) offered. Think about how the crate will be used can help with your choice of homes for your dog. Crate training has become standard practice for many dog owners by this time. Although the common belief that dogs have a natural den instinct is not, in fact, true, they do benefit from an exclusive and secure space to call their own. Dog crates allow owners to confine their dogs in an environment that quickly becomes familiar and reassuring to the dog.
They might also be safer in a car accident than other types. The door is a squeeze latch which offers good security and onehanded operation. The plastic makes it easier to clean. There are some disadvantages with a plastic dog crate. Not all plastic crates can be taken apart when not used so they take up space. Since the crate has openings near the top the dog has limited sight to see things going on around him. Aluminium and wire dog crates are very similar. The aluminium crate can be either fixed or folding. These crates are light weight. When constructed properly they can be very sturdy and they dont rust.
A wire crate is a good option if youre buying a dog crate for a bed. It is a good idea to get a crate bumper for comfort and safety. Many dogs also prefer a covering over the back and perhaps the sides of the crate to give them a greater sense of privacy. This doesnt have to be expensive: we have a blanket draped over our dogs crate. Using a dog crate for a bed doesnt mean that you cant be stylish as well. There are many crates that are both comfortable for your dog and will fit with any décor.
