Size matters when choosing dog beds. It should be big enough to fit your dog comfortably. This may seem obvious, but dont shop for beds without actually measuring your dog. Leave room for your dog to grow if your dog is young, and leave room for your dog to get fatter if he is older. Also, dog beds should leave dogs with enough room to turn and move around in them.
A typical form factor for these beds is the donut style. They dont resemble donuts all that much, as the bottom is actually solid and cushiony. They do have a ringed edge, also cushiony, and this edge is what gives this style of designer dog beds its name. The ring part of the bed makes for an excellent headrest for your pet. Some dog beds carry the anthropomorphizing trend indicated by the prevalence of doggie sweaters and other designer doggie clothes to extremes. Designers create designer dog beds that resemble human furniture, like little sofas or lounge chairs.
With the growth of designer pet accessories such as dog collars and even clothing, it is no surprise that humans would want designer dog beds that would match the style of their home, and the style of their dog accessories. The trend toward highend dog beds has become so prevalent that there are stores and websites specializing in nothing but designer dog beds. Fancy Names, Fancy Prices Normal dog beds, which are available in a great variety of styles and colors, and which not only can meet your dogs needs but also can match your decor, only cost around fifty dollars.
Filler for dog beds is typically solid foam or stuffing. Poly foam is typically used to make stuffing for dog beds. Look for beds with high loft stuffing, as they will be less likely to get squashed or otherwise lose their shape and fluffiness. Stuffing is more suitable for a small dog than a large one. Solid foam beds are a better choice for larger dogs, and healthy older dogs. For a dog with serious back or hip problems, you should look into orthopedic foam dog beds. Be aware of the firmness or density of the foam.
If you think that dog beds for small dogs are different that any other beds, you may well be right. Many little pups are pretty opinionated about what they like, which is why we decided to dig a little deeper to see things from their point of view. So here are some thoughts to mull over. Pets like to sleep with their masters thats a given. And, while you may not mind sharing your bed with a small dog, sometimes you just need to get a good nights sleep without having to shift positions to accommodate your pet.
