These dog toys are specifically designed to be satisfying to chew on but built tough enough to last. One of the most popular type of toys that owners of powerful chewers swear by are chew toys that are manufactured with a material that is hard but soft, durable but bendable. Its difficult for dogs to really enjoy the chewing pleasure of biting on a surface thats hard, like plastic or a stiff rubber. Sure, these types of chew toys are tough and durable but they arent exactly curbing a dogs instinctual desire to chew.
However, some toys do claim to be indestructible. Thats a matter of opinion. The venerable Kong toys, which come in lots of different sizes and styles, are virtually indestructible, but even these hard rubber toys can be beaten by some dogs. If you give a small Kong to a large dog with strong jaws who is intent on chewing it to pieces, the Kong can, in fact, be torn. It may take a long time, but it can happen. However, your dog will probably more than get your moneys worth out of the toy. If you buy a large, appropriatelysized Kong for a large dog then your dog will probably not be able to destroy it.
Another soft dog toy manufacturer is My Good Dog. They make their softyetstrong chew toys out of the same two durable fabrics found in highend sneakers. Some of their toys even have a Vibram natural rubber chewing nub added for dogs who occasionally like something hard to chew on too. It has been said that a tired dog is a happy one. That may be true. However, it is certainly true that a tired dog has a happy owner. Dog toys and play serve a valuable function for you and your petbesides wearing him out and keeping him out of trouble, toys can stimulate his mind.
