Dog Beds. Tuesday , January 23rd , 2018 - 13:24:53 PM
Not all dogs are allowed in the house, even in winter, so a heated bed for kennels, garages or the porch can be a necessity in some climates. A heated bed can take some of the sting out of being in the dog house. Prolonged exposure to cold can lead to a variety of problems for your pet such as: cracked paws, infections, dehydration and in extreme cases even hypothermia. If your dog is shivering and cold this can weaken his immune system. If health issues werent enough, your dog will be just plain miserable.
Some people pamper their pets, where others wouldnt consider that their dog would have the need for a bed. However, even if you are not inclined to pamper your dog, dog beds can improve your dogs quality of life in many ways. Dog beds have many practical functions, such as insulating your dog from the floor. This is especially nice during winter months, especially if your dog is old, fat, or arthritic. Dog beds also give dogs a private space. Dogs are pack animals, and youre the pack.
If your dog sleeps with part of his body elevated, then a pillow top bed should be considered. If your selection is wrong and your buddy is not happy with the bed you selected, then no amount of warmth is going to make it more inviting. Nothing is worse than spending money on a bed for your beloved pet, only to find out he would rather sleep on the floor that on what you thought he would like. Listen to your dog by watching his habits and you will make a better decision for both of you.
