Mavis Shaw. Dog Crates. February 03rd , 2018.
Dogs have been the favorite companions of mankind for generations. They have been documented in the Egyptian age and have been faithful hunters and guides for many years. Depending upon a dogs breed and pedigree, a number of people prefer to keep a pet at some point in life. Dogs may be indoor or outdoor pets. In order to keep pets indoors most people prefer wire dog crates, which are considered a practical option. Dog crate is an enclosed box type chamber in which dogs are enclosed for transportation to different areas or dogs are enclosed for security purposes.
A good idea is also a crate bumper, which is very similar to a cot bumper. Puppies have an instinctive desire to keep their sleeping area clean. Using a crate takes advantage of this and helps your puppy learn to control his bladder between trips outside. He will have accidents, of course, but by using a dog crate as a bed and combining it with a regular toileting, feeding and play schedule, toilet training will be quicker and less stressful for everyone involved. Just remember never to use the crate as a form of punishment.
Wire crates purchases are made keeping in mind a pets size. An ideal wire dog crate will have ample room for a pet to move around without any limitations. These crates provide ample ventilation and security for a dog. Wire dog crates are fairly easy to clean and require low maintenance. A majority of these crates are available with long lasting rustproof coats. Wire canine crates are available in a variety of styles in order to accommodate large and small dogs. It is easy to find collapsible and folding models based on the pets needs.
There are many types to choose from today. Among so many choices, stainless steel still remain very popular. Dogs get nervous in dark, poorlyventilated crates. Steel offer the highest amount of light and the best air flow. They are not as flexible as some of the other crates on the market, but having a welllit, wellventilated crate can offset any flexibility issues. Dogs feel more secure when they can see what is going on around them, when they dont feel boxed in. Thats where stainless steel have a definite advantage.
A dog crate should be big enough for the dog to stand up, turn around, and otherwise move with ease. Unless you want to buy multiple crates throughout the life of your dog, youll need to buy one that will fit its fullgrown size, even if youre getting the dog as a puppy. The tricky part about this is that you dont want the dog to have more room than it actually needs, at least not once it has outgrown the puppy stage. However, setting up dividers to reduce the space of the crate isnt difficult, so err on the side of too large rather than too small.
